Our Process
How We Work
Every project at Hitchcock Woodworking starts with clear communication and thoughtful planning. Our process is designed to keep things straightforward, collaborative, and well-organized, so clients know what to expect at each stage and the work stays on track from start to finish.
We work closely with homeowners, builders, and designers to make sure each project is planned correctly, built with care, and installed cleanly.
1. Initial Conversation
Every project begins with a conversation. We’ll talk through your goals, scope, timeline, and how the space will be used. This helps us understand whether the project is a good fit and how we can best support it.
At this stage, we focus on alignment, making sure expectations, budget range, and overall approach are clear before moving forward.
2. Design & Planning
Once a project moves ahead, we refine layouts, details, and construction approach. Cabinet sizes, proportions, storage needs, and integration with the surrounding space are all carefully considered.
Good planning at this stage allows the build to move efficiently and avoids surprises later in the process.
3. Build
All cabinetry and woodwork is built in-house by our experienced team. We combine traditional woodworking techniques with modern tools and processes to produce accurate, consistent results.
Throughout the build, we maintain quality checks and keep communication open with the project team.
4. Finish & Installation
Once complete, the work is finished and prepared for installation. We coordinate closely with builders and other trades to ensure clean installation and proper fit.
Our goal is a finished product that feels intentional, well-executed, and fully integrated into the space.
5. Ongoing Support
We value long-term relationships and remain available after installation if questions come up or future work is needed. Many of our clients return for additional projects over time, and we’re always glad to continue the relationship.
